The Melbourne Showgrounds location puts you on the doorstep of the world famous Flemington Racecourse, home of the Melbourne Cup. Our venue is only 9 minutes drive from the city via the City link Tollway and we are on the airport side of town. A myriad of restaurants and shops are available only 5 minutes away in Carlton and Moonee Ponds. Accommodation is only 2 minutes away by cab.

The RAS is taking a major share in its own future at the Melbourne Showgrounds with work under way to upgrade many of the facilities, including the removal of old buildings, and the refurbishment of kitchen areas and other key amenities around the grounds.
With the addition of the new Eastern Pavilion, Melbourne Showgrounds can now offer a total of almost 10,000 square metres of exhibition and function space all in the one precinct. No other Melbourne venue can offer as much indoor and outdoor venue flexibility. More improvements are expected to be announced soon.
Every year we turn it on for over 700,000 people for the Royal Show.
