Amway China Incentive Arrives at Melbourne Showgrounds

Melbourne Showgrounds is at the forefront of Australia’s largest ever incentive program as the first wave of delegates from Amway China’s Leadership Seminar arrive throughout April.

Utilising more than 35,000 square meters of adaptable space, Melbourne Showgrounds proudly serves as the anchor venue for the event’s business sessions and spectacular gala dinners, accommodating approximately 2,500 delegates in each of the six event
waves.

As the largest incentive group ever to visit Melbourne, Amway China’s arrival underscores the city’s status as a top destination for major business.

Securing this significant event followed several successful site visits by Amway representatives to Melbourne Showgrounds, including during the 2024 Melbourne Royal Show, where the dedicated team demonstrated its ability to deliver the high-quality service essential for an event of this scale and importance.

Executive General Manager Experience and Commercial, Hannah von Bibra said Melbourne Showgrounds is excited to contribute to this landmark program and showcase its world-class facilities to an international audience.

“The selection of Melbourne Showgrounds as the anchor venue for these key events was a highly competitive process and the team is immensely proud to have been chosen to play such a pivotal role in this landmark event,” she said.

“Melbourne Showgrounds’ proven event curation capabilities, most notably demonstrated through the successful delivery of the annual Melbourne Royal Show, were a significant factor in the decision.”

Working in close partnership with Encore Event Technologies and Dean & McPherson, Melbourne Showgrounds is ensuring every detail is meticulously planned and executed to create memorable and impactful events as part of Amway China’s 30th-anniversary celebrations.

“On the special occasion of Amway China’s 30th anniversary, we are excited to meet in Melbourne for our Leadership Seminar. Our delegates look forward to gathering to share knowledge and discover all that this incredible city has to offer,” said Carl Wen, Director of Special Events, Amway China.

In partnership with Dean & McPherson, Melbourne Showgrounds will offer delegates a unique and engaging dining experience, showcasing both Indigenous and Modern Australian culinary influences and featuring signature items like over 11,000 crayfish and 4.5 tonnes of marble score 9 porterhouse steak.

“Securing this prestigious event, results from Dean & McPherson’s strong partnership with Melbourne Showgrounds and its established reputation as an industry leader in large-scale events” said Paul Tyas, Head of Hospitality.

The Amway China Leadership Seminar is estimated to generate a significant $100 million in economic impact for Melbourne and Victoria.

Delegates will be staying at eight hotels across the city, accounting for approximately 32,000 hotel room nights, and will dine at 50 restaurants throughout the region.

Melbourne Showgrounds is honoured to be at the heart of this historic event, showcasing its premier facilities and contributing to the overall success of this record-breaking incentive program.
