Melbourne Showgrounds stands alone for venue hire with its first-class facilities, unparalleled offering of indoor and outdoor spaces, and proximity to the CBD, according to Caravan Industry Victoria CEO Daniel Sahlberg.
The record-breaking 2025 Victoria Caravan and Camping Supershow was the biggest show in the history of the association, with Melbourne Showgrounds playing host and solidifying itself as the premier venue for large-scale exhibitions.
Held from February 19-23, 2025, the event used over 60,000sqm of exhibition space, 240 must-see exhibitors and had a massive $150 million worth of products on display.
Why choose Melbourne Showgrounds for your event?
Mr Sahlberg said the event had moved to Melbourne Showgrounds from Caulfield Racecourse 10 years ago, driven by the event’s burgeoning space requirements.
He added other venues don’t offer the same indoor/outdoor space offered by Melbourne Showgrounds, highlighting the ability to showcase an unparalleled array of caravans, camping equipment, and 4×4 vehicles and even an off-road track.
“It is close to the CBD, and the space that it’s got – you don’t have anywhere else that we can think of that is so close to Melbourne with first-class facilities,” he said.
“You come outdoors and put an off-road track. You can go indoors and have a showpiece. You can be in one pavilion and have a different vibe because the pavilions are different in nature, so it creates so much flexibility.
“There’s nowhere else really like near the CBD.”
Expertise and professionalism: Melbourne Showgrounds team
Beyond the vast offerings of space, the CEO emphasised the invaluable expertise and professionalism of the Melbourne Showgrounds team.
“Running the Royal Melbourne show, there’s lots of requirements and different aspects of that, which we’re now starting to bring into our events. It’s that professionalism that Melbourne Royal has that helps us make our shows better,” he said.
This collaborative approach has fostered a mutually beneficial relationship, driving continuous improvement for the Supershow.
The venue’s vast space, strategic location and expert team have created an ideal environment for this premier event to thrive, making it a key element in the event’s ongoing and ever increasing success.
