Melbourne Showgrounds will soon be hosting screenings of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and Twentieth Century Fox movies at a brand-new drive-in cinema.
Taking place from Thursday 3 December - Monday 28 December, with one movie showing each evening, this will be the perfect night out for a catch-up with friends, entertaining the family or even a date night with a difference!
This new cinema experience is just one of the many ways that Melbourne Showgrounds is proving its incredible versatility as Melbourne’s largest indoor and outdoor event precinct. View session times here.
During the recent council elections, Melbourne Showgrounds was the site of the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) Local Council Election Count, taking place over two weeks.
Melbourne Showgrounds continues to provide a versatile and secure location for some of Australia’s most watched television programs with Lego Masters and Masterchef returning to commence the pre-production of their next seasons.
This weekend, students from throughout Victoria will be at the venue for the 2020 Victorian Selective Entry High Schools Testing. This event is a competitive six-part test for students that are seeking entry into one of Victoria’s most prestigious state schools. Whilst this event was originally scheduled for June, due to COVID-19 it was pushed back until November.
With the restrictions beginning to ease, we have seen an influx of new business for the Encore Studio, presented within Victoria Pavilion.
Over the next month, filming for the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) National Awards, Victorian Education Excellence Virtual Awards and the GLOBE Community Awards will all take place.
Long term Melbourne Showgrounds event client, the Victorian Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow have announced that they will be postponing their 2021 event until later in the year.
